I received an invitation that will help promote the FHSRA and
rodeo in general. I have been invited to carry the American
Flag, April 17th, during the opening ceremonies of the
"Festival Of The Horse" at the Florida Horse Park in Ocala.
This is a HUGE event, it is an Olympic Qualifier, also called
Florida International Equestrian Triathlon. Includes polo
matches, dressage, cross country jumping, show jumping,
etc. You know, lots of guys in tuxes, women in dresses, totally
different than what we are used too :-D They said that I am
the only queen, of any kind, to ever be invited!!! Some very big
dignitaries will be there, possibly the Governor. We are sooooo
excited!!! The website for the event is horsefestival.com We will make sure
that we take lots of photos and put them on her website!! This facility is
proposing to build indoor arenas, so rodeos in the future are a possibility!

One of the best things about it is that I will get to ride "Tabu" again! Mr.
Whizzer Baker is bringing him for me to ride. What an incredible horse he is!

We have a tentative date for the "Rodeo Prom", it is Sat., April
12. I will have to check with the directors and make sure that
is OK. That is the ONLY weekend in April that is available
and there are none in March. I know that our "Rodeo Prom"
may conflict with a few school proms, but we just don't
have any other options. Other details will be posted as we
get them. I wanted to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Enjoy your Christmas break and practice, practice, practice.

Just wanted to wish Heather Mills, Miss Rodeo Florida, good luck at the Miss
Rodeo America Pageant in Las Vegas! I have been lucky enough to make
several appearances with her this year and she is great!!

Also, I have an idea that I wanted to run across all of you. Since we all know
that there is a volleyball tournament at Nationals, I thought that we could
start practicing together at our rodeos on Fri. and/or Sat. nights after our
rodeos. Of course we won't know who will be on the National Team, but we
can at least get some practice in for whoever makes it and it will be a lot of
fun. Also, we can start working on the knowledge bowl team. I know some
parents who could be GREAT coaches!

Hey again! Prom is approaching fast!! It's already almost December and
hopefully it's going to be in April! Girls start getting those dresses and boys,
even though you all don't like to, you all need to get those tuxes. =] To girls
and guys make sure you all buy something that is comfortable and that you
can dance in. There's nothing worse than buying/renting something to wear,
getting there and being uncomfortable.
We're trying to still get a date but it's hard trying to work around rodeos. So
as soon as I find a date, I will let you all know.
